China San Francisco Tourist Visas
Note: This page applies only to the residents of the China San Francisco jurisdiction. This includes residents of the following states:
Alaska, Nevada, Oregon, Washington
And residents of the following California counties:

A valid passport and visa are required to enter The People's Republic of China. Americans arriving without valid passports and the appropriate visa may not be permitted to enter and will be subject to a fine and immediate deportation at the traveler's expense.
Please see the Center for Disease Control for the current immunization requirements for travel abroad. Be sure to click on all countries to which you are traveling to review the immunization requirements for each.

Items required to secure your visa to China.
Submit your current, valid, signed Passport. It must not expire within 6 months and must have at least 2 blank visa pages. If you do not have the proper blank visa pages in your passport, you must first amend your passport to have pages added. A Briggs will secure your visa using the added pages. If your passport expires within six months, you must renew your passport and then we will secure your visa with the new passport.
Submit a completed, typed, signed China Visa Application form. It must be signed with blue ink and.
- Your name on the application must match your name on your passport exactly, including middle name if applicable.
- Any incorrect information (such as wrong passport info) on the application form may result in rejection by the embassy!
Submit a recent, 2x2 Passport Photograph with the whites of your eyes visible and taken by a passport photographer. It must not be a digital or non-passport style photograph.
We can prepare passport photographs for you at select A Briggs office locations nationwide.
PROOF OF RESIDENCY[NON-US CITIZENS]
If you are not a US citizen, submit your original proof of your legal long-term US residency (i.e. US Permanent Resident Card or US visa).
PROOF OF DEPARTURE
Submit a computer-generated flight itinerary from your travel agent or airline, or a copy of your ticket(s). A photocopy is acceptable. It must indicate your name, date of arrival and departure from China and flight information.
If you wish to have Emergency processing, your itinerary must indicate a departure time within 2-3 days. Emergency processing requires an additional $20 fee paid to the consulate.
PROOF OF HOUSING
Submit ONE of the following:
- A photocopy of your hotel confirmation for each night of intended stay in China.
- A Tourist Invitation Letter from a Duly Authorized Tourism Unit.
- A signed Invitation Letter from a company, corporation, institution or individual in China. The letter must include:
- Your personal information on the application (name, gender, date of birth, etc.).
- Travel details including purpose of the visit, date of arrival and departure, locations that will be visited, relationship between the inviter and the applicant, and who will bear the cost of the applicant's accommodations in China.
- Inviter information, including name of the unit or individual, phone number, address, and if applicable, seal and signature of the inviter's legal representative.
- Also submit a copy of your inviter's passport bio-data page, and a copy of their Chinese ID card.
Generally, a fax, photocopy or printout is acceptable; if necessary, the consular officer will ask you to submit the original document, provide additional documents, or schedule an interview.
BIRTH CERTIFICATE[MINORS UNDER 18]
If you are under 18 years of age, submit a photocopy of your Birth Certificate.
If you were born in China and do not have a China visa in your current passport, submit either your China passport or a prior U.S. passport containing a China visa.
US citizens transiting China do not require a Chinese visa as long as they remain in the airport for less than 24 hours.
Persons who plan to re-enter China from Hong Kong or Macao must obtain visas allowing multiple entries.
Special permits are required to visit Tibet as well as many remote areas not normally open to foreigners.
French passport holders residing in the San Francisco Chinese jurisdiction must appear in person when applying for a Chinese visa.

NOTE: Processing times are business days, and do not include weekends, holidays, and regular consular closings. The first day begins the day after your package is received by A Briggs except in the case of pre-arranged same day service when available. Prices are per applicant.

If Paying by Check
Send a money order for the consular fees payable to the Embassy of China. The payment to the Embassy must be a money order. Personal checks are not accepted.
ONLINE ORDER FORM
You must complete the Online Order Form.
The order form gives us your name, address, shipping information and payment method. Multiple applicants can be entered using one order form. Please print two copies of the confirmation page. Include one copy with the documents you ship to us and keep one copy for your records.
While completing the online order form in this step, you will be asked how you want to pay A Briggs. You may pay our fees online with a credit card or enclose a personal or business check or money order.

The UPS Shipping Document must indicate "UPS Next Day Air". Any other type of UPS service is NOT acceptable.
Note: Additional shipping costs must be charged to a credit card for each package shipped to an international destination and the following locations: Alaska, Hawaii, and all U.S. Territories.
Saturday Delivery is an additional $16 when available to US destinations.
