A valid passport and Chinese visa are required to enter China. Americans arriving without valid passports and the appropriate China visa may not be permitted to enter and will be subject to a fine and immediate deportation at the traveler's expense.

Please follow the instructions below to obtain your China visa. After you read all the instructions, if you have any questions, call us at 1-800-806-0581 before you start the process.

Note: A Briggs submits the majority of visa requests for processing through the Embassy of China in Washington DC. The items required below are the items the Embassy of China in Washington DC requires in order to issue a visa and may not be the same as the items required at other Chinese consulates in the US. Should you need or want your visa request to be submitted through one of the other Chinese consulates in the US, please contact the A Briggs regional office in that area to discuss the appropriate procedures and requirements.

Send us your current valid and signed passport, along with a photocopy of the information page. It must not expire within 6 months and must have at least two blank visa pages. If you do not have any blank visa pages in your passport, you must first amend your passport to have pages added. A Briggs will secure your visa using the added pages. If your passport expires within six months, you must renew your passport and then we will secure your visa with the new passport.

Send 1 visa application form completed and signed with your signature in blue ink.

China Visa Application

You must submit 1 passport photograph taken by a passport photographer. Digital and non-passport photographs are not acceptable.

Passport Photo Requirements

Non-US passport holders must submit a copy of their green card or valid US visa.

NOTE: Processing times are business days. The first day begins the day after your package is received by A Briggs except in the case of pre-arranged same day service when available. Prices are per applicant.

The A Briggs fees are:

$55.00 for regular service for which we secure your visa from the Embassy in its normal time of issuance; or

$135.00 for rush service for which we secure your visa as quickly as the Embassy will issue it.

If Paying by Credit Card
You may pay your consular fees via credit card when filling out our online order form.

If Paying by Check
Send a money order for the consular fees payable to the Embassy of China. The payment to the Embassy must be a money order. Personal checks are not accepted.

Chinese visa applicants who were born in China must submit either their most recent Chinese passport or a prior U.S. passport with a Chinese visa in the passport.

US citizens transiting China do not require a Chinese visa as long as they remain in the airport for less than 24 hours.

Persons who plan to re-enter China from Hong Kong or Macao must obtain visas allowing multiple entries.

Special permits are required to visit Tibet as well as many remote areas not normally open to foreigners.

French passport holders are subject to additional visa requirements including, but not limited to, proof of hotel confirmation, flight itinerary, and valid health insurance along with an original green card or US visa. French passport holder are advised to contact our office at 202-625-1057 to speak with a Chinese Visa Specialist.

Processing times are business days and do not include shipping time. Keep this in mind when placing your order. We count “days” the same way the passport office and embassies count days: if we receive and submit the document on Monday, then Tuesday is the first day, Wednesday is two days, etc. (we do submit documents every business day).

A traveler that selects 4-day visa processing from the embassy may experience fulfillment times of up to 7 days including shipping.

Saturday Delivery is an additional $14 when available to US destinations.
